Job Responsibility
Safely and proficiently operate truck-mounted hydraulic hoisting devices and various highway tractor/trailers including roll off truck and trailer combinations
Provide long-haul transportation services, including overnight routes
Complete thorough Commercial Vehicle Inspections as required, including the documenting and reporting of any deficiencies promptly to immediate Supervisor
Ensure all waste services are completed in a safe and timely manner
Inspect condition of waste bins, report defects, and monitor condition and functionality
Notify Dispatch Coordinator of delays, unsafe work sites, incidents, equipment breakdowns and/or other maintenance or operational concerns
Address and resolve client concerns and when appropriate refer complaints and questions to the leadership and/or supervisor
Other duties as assigned that fulfill the demands of the role
Requirements
Valid Class One (1) Operator's Licence or equivalent is required
Three (3) or more years of professional truck driving experience is required
Ability to access all Acden client sites as required by the position
Commercial Abstract demonstrating a pattern of safe and compliant driving behaviour is required
Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO), or BSO certificate, or a combination of CSTS & OSSA is required
Ability to obtain clearance on drug, alcohol, hearing, and physical abilities pre-employment testing is required
this role is designated as safety sensitive
Successfully completing a driver's evaluation on a tractor-trailer or truck-and-trailer combination with an 18-speed manual transmission is required
Safety driven attitude and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to have
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate is an asset
Load securement experience in accordance with Alberta Provincial Cargo Securement Regulations is preferred
