An experienced and engaging Temporary Travelling Tutor is required to support two children (boy aged 7, girl aged 5). Beginning in Cabrils, Barcelona, the family will then be travelling for the remainder of the summer, with the position running until the end of August. The role is focused purely on academics, covering English, Maths, and Phonics in line with the British Curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a native English speaker with a strong UK teaching background, ideally from a London prep school, with confident, proven experience supporting children with dyslexia. Strong phonics expertise is essential. Start date: May 2026. Hours: Monday – Friday, ideally 09:00 – 13:00 (approximately 2 hours per child). There is flexibility for after-school hours if the successful candidate is teaching during the day. Location: Initially Cabrils, Barcelona, Spain, and then travelling to varying destinations. Salary: Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.
Job Responsibility
Planning and delivering engaging daily lessons tailored to each child’s age, level, and learning needs
Teaching and reinforcing English, Maths, and phonics across the three-week period
Providing academic support, homework help, and identifying any gaps in understanding
Monitoring and tracking progress, adapting teaching methods where needed to keep both children engaged and progressing
Supporting confidence-building and maintaining a positive attitude towards learning
Communicating regularly with parents regarding progress, lesson content, and any concerns
Maintaining a safe, encouraging, and structured learning environment
Acting as a positive role model whilst motivating and guiding both children
Requirements
Native English speaker with extensive experience teaching the British Curriculum, ideally from a UK teaching or London prep school background
Strong phonics teaching expertise and confidence delivering early years / primary English and Maths
Experience supporting dyslexia and adapting lessons to individual learning needs
Energetic, engaging, and able to build strong rapport with children whilst making learning fun and motivating
Proactive, organised, professional, and confident working independently
Reliable, adaptable, and able to act as a positive role model
