Job Description:

We are seeking skilled and reliable Temporary Overhire Electricians to supplement our core lighting staff during peak production periods. This role is project-based and primarily focused on the physical execution of lighting load-ins, focus calls, and strikes. The ideal candidate can work efficiently as part of a team, follow directions precisely, and adhere to all safety standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Load-in: Read lighting plots to hang, circuit, cable, and patch lighting instruments and practicals
  • Focus: Assist the Lighting Designer and Master Electrician during focus sessions, including physically positioning instruments from ladders, catwalks, or personnel lifts
  • Strike: Assist in the safe and efficient dismantling, sorting, and storage of all lighting equipment at the end of a production
  • Equipment Prep: Perform basic equipment checks and preparation as directed by the Master Electrician
  • Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices at heights
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other production departments to ensure a smooth and safe workflow

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a stage electrician in a professional or academic setting
  • Strong working knowledge of theatrical lighting equipment, including conventional and LED fixtures
  • Understanding of basic electrical principles, power distribution, and safe working practices
  • Familiarity with DMX and other signal protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and hookup charts
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders, catwalks, and aerial work platforms
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and have a positive, solutions-oriented attitude

Nice to have:

Proficiency in operating ETC Eos family lighting consoles
