Job Description

Our client in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Staff Accountant to support their accounting team. This role is ideal for an organized professional with strong analytical skills and hands-on accounting experience who can step in quickly and contribute to day-to-day financial operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and maintain journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and account analysis
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Help prepare financial reports and schedules
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with audit support and other ad hoc accounting projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a staff accountant or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or Microsoft D365 is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
