We are seeking an enthusiastic and well organised Receptionist/Administrator to join a friendly and welcoming team, who are very passionate about providing the best support to their students. This is an important role as you will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents and students, face to face and over the telephone. This is a temporary role starting immediately for 2 - 3 months initially therefore you must be available immediately and able to commit to the duration of the role. This role may become permanent for the right candidate.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a professional welcome, manage face‑to‑face enquiries, and ensure all visitors follow safeguarding, sign‑in, DBS, and health & safety procedures
Handle incoming calls, voicemail, and routine queries, directing or escalating as needed
Deliver general admin support such as photocopying, scanning, filing, preparing documents, and managing incoming/outgoing mail
Monitor office emails, assist with correspondence, maintain accurate school and student records, and process payments, orders, and invoices in line with procedures
Maintain accurate records and support daily operations
Take responsibility for updating SIMS data
Support effective communication between students, staff, and the office, passing on messages promptly
Assist with school trips, events, marketing, reprographics, and general communications
Support fire evacuation procedures, safeguarding requirements, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance
Contribute to meetings, take minutes when required, support wider admin team tasks, and undertake additional duties to ensure smooth running of the school
Requirements:
Prior receptionist or administration skills
Ideally within an educational setting
Understanding of the importance of safeguarding
Computer literate
Confident and polite telephone manner
High attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Available immediately
Able to commit to the duration of the role (2-3 months initially)
Enhanced DBS required prior to commencing employment
Recent DBS or subscription to the update service is desirable
