Job Description:

Brook Street are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-regarded professional services firm, for an experienced Temporary Legal Secretary to join their Tunbridge Wells office. This role is supporting a busy legal team and requires someone who is calm, organised and able to step in quickly to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support. Working closely with partners and fee earners, you will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, helping to ensure the smooth running of the team and enabling fee earners to focus on client work and business development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Full diary management, including arranging meetings, travel, calls and lunches
  • Liaising with internal teams, clients and external contacts
  • Regular client communication via telephone, email and correspondence
  • Preparing for meetings, including document management and drafting
  • Supporting business development activities, including pitches and presentations
  • Managing emails, calls and post in fee earner's absence
  • Maintaining accurate client records on the CRM system
  • Producing Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
  • Assisting with financial reports, expenses and dashboard information
  • Arranging team and client events
  • Occasional travel between office locations as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar secretarial or administrative role (essential)
  • Experience within a professional services or legal environment (highly desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Calm under pressure and able to provide stability within a busy team
  • Quick learner with strong IT skills and confidence using new systems
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of BigHand and Peppermint would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Candidates from a legal background are preferred
