Temporary Full-Time Finance Assistant position in the Finance Department of the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board. The role involves providing financial and administrative support, including payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliation tasks, to ensure the efficient delivery of services to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts.
Job Responsibility:
Efficient, error-free payroll processing
Correction of any financial errors in reporting with regards to payroll and ensure that employees receive corrected pay
Payroll reports, review staffing pattern hours and reconcile differences and make necessary remittances to payroll
Tracking of purchase orders and ensure all are processed correctly
Administrative duties of coding, input and recording purchase invoices in the G/L account for processing as well as inputting accounts receivables, tracking and reporting
Assistance with the maintenance of Ministry cash flows and alert supervisor of any discrepancies
Assistance with completion of special projects as directed by the supervisor and/or director
Balancing of expenses to the G/L and prepare required working papers using Excel
Annual and monthly preparation payments and documentation for employer/employee contributions for Employer Health Tax, Employment Insurance and Pension Plan
Assistance with the preparation of bank reconciliations
Recording of receipts for all deposits
Preparation of monthly rental charges
Assistance with collection calls to other receivable overdue accounts
Scanning and coding accounts payable invoices in electronic filing system
Requirements:
Minimum of a 3-year Accounting Diploma from a recognized Canadian accredited college
Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting environment
Must possess excellent computer skills as well as demonstrated functional ability in accounting software
Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license with an insured vehicle for employment related use
