An opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Consultant Radiologist to join a well-established radiology service in Ireland. The successful candidate will contribute to a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service, supporting acute, outpatient, and day-case care across a diverse patient population. The role offers broad exposure to general radiology within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, alongside opportunities in teaching and service development.
Job Responsibility:
Provide consultant-led diagnostic radiology services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.
Interpret a wide range of imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain radiography.
Support acute imaging services, contributing to timely diagnosis and patient management.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians across medical and surgical specialities.
Participate in radiology reporting, protocoling, and prioritisation of imaging requests.
Contribute to teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students.
Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain high standards of patient safety, reporting accuracy, and documentation.
Requirements:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Radiology (Specialist Division).
Relevant postgraduate qualification in Radiology (e.g., FRCR or equivalent).
Extensive experience at the Consultant level in Radiology.
Broad experience in general radiology across multiple imaging modalities.
Experience working within multidisciplinary clinical environments.
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills across imaging modalities.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-demand clinical environment.
