Job Description

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Temporary Seasonal Construction Technician in Laramie, WY to perform basic construction tasks under supervision to provide a safe and effective transportation system. This is a temporary, full-time position that could last up to 9 months.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform basic construction tasks under supervision to provide a safe and effective transportation system
  • Perform basic lab tests and survey procedures
  • Perform construction inspections
  • Prepare and check computations and data

Requirements

  • Knowledge of materials testing
  • Knowledge of surveying methods and equipment operations
  • Knowledge of construction inspection, which includes interpretation of plans and specifications
  • Skill in the use of computers
  • Strong math skills are required
  • Ability to perform algebraic calculations
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be available for work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a valid driver's license
