Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Temporary After School Club Assistant. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with children, has a strong background in childcare, and possesses the necessary skills to ensure a safe and engaging environment for our young participants.

Job Responsibility:

Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children attending the After School Club
Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures
Conduct regular head counts and maintain accurate attendance records
Administer first aid as needed and maintain incident reports
Program Planning and Implementation: Assist in planning and organizing age-appropriate activities, games, and projects
Set up and prepare materials for daily activities
Lead and participate in group activities, encouraging children’s involvement
Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual children
Incorporate educational elements into recreational activities
Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management techniques
Establish and maintain clear rules and expectations for children
Address behavioral issues promptly and appropriately
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding children’s behavior
Promote a respectful and inclusive environment for all children
Snack Preparation and Food Safety: Prepare and serve nutritious snacks in accordance with food hygiene standards
Ensure proper handling, storage, and serving of food items
Maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area
Accommodate special dietary needs and food allergies
Teach and reinforce proper hand washing and food safety practices among children
Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding children’s experiences

Requirements:

Proficiency in Food Hygiene
Pediatric First Aid certification
General First Aid certification
Minimum of 2 years experience working with children in a similar setting
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred)
