Job Description

We are recruiting for a methodical and thorough Accountant to join a well-established team based in Honiton, on a temporary basis, starting immediately for a minimum of 6 - 8 weeks. You will provide a variety of duties to ensure smooth running of the department throughout a busy period. Ideally you would have experience using Xero or similar accounting software experience to be considered for this role.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and file self-assessment tax returns, particularly for clients with rental portfolios, sole trader businesses, and individuals earning over £100,000
  • Support the preparation and completion of limited company year-end accounts
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reconciliation using Xero accounting software
  • Liaise with team members as required while working with autonomy and efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Well-organised and process driven
  • Experience within practice would be highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
