We are looking for two talented and enthusiastic people to join our busy and forward-thinking Housing Options and Supply team in this exciting Temporary Accommodation Officer role. The successful applicant will support our households in temporary accommodation seeking ways to maximise move on opportunities into longer term, permanent accommodation. This role is fast paced and front facing, and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their customer commitment and ability to manage and build stakeholder and client relationships effectively to deliver the aims of the role.
Job Responsibility:
Support households in temporary accommodation seeking ways to maximise move on opportunities into longer term, permanent accommodation
Manage and build stakeholder and client relationships
Responsible for all processes and matters associated with clients housed in Temporary Accommodation under the councils statutory homelessness duties
Management of void units working closely with our in house Temporary Accommodation teams and external providers
Work closely with clients, benefits teams and providers to protect the council financially
Ensure that placements are appropriate, including undertaking of affordability and suitability assessments
Formulating move on plans for all clients owed the Main Housing Duty
Requirements:
Experience developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
Experience working within a partnership environment
Fantastic communication skills
Self-starter with a can-do approach
Significant experience of working in and or managing an autonomous business area
Background of working with complex and vulnerable clients
Proactive and a confident communicator
Experience of leading in their business area and developing new ideas and solutions to complex problems
Driving Licence and access to a car with own business insurance
Excellent IT skills
Good eye for detail
Collaborative approach
