Our client, a global law firm, is seeking Temp-to-Perm Interim HR Director to provide senior-level leadership and stability within its Human Resources function during a transitional period. This position will lead core HR functions including employee relations, performance management, recruiting oversight, policy development, HRIS governance, and compliance, while mentoring emerging leaders and supporting global HR initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced, consultative HR executive who can step into a complex professional services environment, quickly assess priorities, and balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
Job Responsibility:
Provide senior-level leadership and stability within its Human Resources function during a transitional period
Lead core HR functions including employee relations, performance management, recruiting oversight, policy development, HRIS governance, and compliance
Mentor emerging leaders and supporting global HR initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
advanced degree and/or SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior-level HR leadership within a law firm or professional services organization strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience overseeing broad HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, recruiting, and policy governance
Proven ability to manage and mentor HR teams, including developing emerging leaders
Deep knowledge of employment law and HR compliance, particularly in New York
Strong consultative approach with the ability to influence, provide thoughtful pushback, and build credibility across all levels of the organization
Ability to step into an interim role, stabilize operations, and add immediate value
Hands-on, adaptable leadership style with strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive matters
