We are looking for a skilled Teller to join our team in Monterey, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions accurately, and ensuring compliance with banking policies. Job Responsibility:
Process customer deposits and withdrawals, ensuring all required documents are complete and accurate
Handle cash advances, savings withdrawals, and checks, verifying authorization and resolving any discrepancies
Utilize computer systems to manage account activities, determine balances, and troubleshoot issues within your authority
Assist with night depository operations, including logging, processing deposits, and handling change orders
Manage automated teller machine cash transactions, counting and balancing cash as needed
Review accounts for memos or holds before completing transactions and apply holds for uncollected funds when necessary
Accept and accurately record loan and installment payments, forwarding them to the appropriate department for processing
Balance daily cash drawer and verify funds transferred to the vault, ordering cash supplies as needed
Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns within your scope of authority
Support branch operations by traveling to other locations as needed to cover for absent tellers
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a teller or retail banking role
Strong cash handling and transaction processing skills
Proficiency with computer systems and banking software
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions
Knowledge of banking policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance
Flexibility to travel to other branches when required
