Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced Telehandler Driver with a Suspended Loads attachment ticket to provide short-term cover on a busy new build housing development in Newcastle. This is a specific cover role requiring a highly skilled operator to safely handle non-standard lifts alongside daily site duties. Job Responsibility

  • Operating a telescopic handler safely and efficiently around a live housing site
  • Utilising the suspended loads attachment to lift, move, and position materials (such as roof trusses or floor packs) according to the site lifting plan
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
  • Distributing traditional building materials to various plots to keep trades moving
  • Conducting daily vehicle safety inspections and pre-lift checks
  • Working closely with the Site Manager and banksmen to maintain strict health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Valid CPCS or NPORS Card with both the Telescopic Handler category and the Suspended Loads endorsement (Essential)
  • Proven experience operating a telehandler on new build housing sites
  • Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, and steel toe cap boots)
  • A safety-first approach with excellent knowledge of lifting plans and weight limits
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication skills and reliability.
