Job Description

An opportunity for a Radio Systems Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Radio Systems Department.

Job Responsibility

  • Radio system integration in Eurodrone platform
  • Involvement in other Airbus DS Military Aircraft platforms (C295, MRTT, A400M, EF2000, SIRTAP)
  • Allocating aircraft requirements to a Communications System
  • Defining the architecture and specifications of the Communications system
  • Elaborating engineering design documentation
  • Being responsible of Communications system design, integration, qualification and certification
  • Supporting feasibility studies for new products/user needs, etc
  • Supplier technical management
  • Supporting the whole design process including design review meetings
  • Supporting to meetings with end customer
  • Supporting Certification and Qualification process
  • Supporting Technical Publications (AFM, FCOM, etc.)
  • Supporting transversal areas such as Services, Production, Procurement, etc.
  • Supporting test campaign sequencing, test procedures & facilities
  • Monitoring and supporting tests and perform real-time analysis of test results
  • Contribution to R&T programs related to SDR/SCA Radios
  • Being at the state of the art of international regulations: ICAO, FAA, EASA, EUROCONTROL, etc.

Requirements

  • Telecommunications Engineering degree or similar
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering or development of avionics system
  • Good knowledge of Communication Functions in other platforms
  • Background knowledge: Inmarsat/Iridium Satcom, Radios (V/UHF, VHF, HF), Civil Datalink (FANS, CPDLC)
  • International project experience
  • Strong English and Spanish skills
  • Good communication skills and pro-active approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work under strict timescales as part of an integrated and multifunctional team
