Job Description:

As a Telecom Designer for Olsson on the Data Center team, you will be responsible for working in a collaborative design environment to design low voltage, telecommunications, and audio/visual systems within the built Data Center environment. This will include but is not limited to the following: layout of MDF/IDF/Demarc rooms, horizontal cabling design and specifications, Wireless Access Control, Security and Access Control, Surveillance, audio/visual systems, nurse call, and other low voltage systems. You will specialize in Telecom, Security, Audio/Visual Design and will also help with other electrical design projects as needed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Utilize CAD/BIM software to support intricate engineering designs, focusing on data center and building systems cable routing, equipment layouts, and communication systems
  • Contribute to projects under the guidance of experienced designers, ensuring high-quality outputs and innovative solutions
  • Assist in managing project components, paying close attention to detail and precision from start to finish
  • Participate in client meetings, showcasing Olsson's commitment to excellence and strong partnerships
  • Be prepared to travel to job sites as necessary, adapting to various conditions to achieve project success

Requirements:

  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills in complex engineering drawing design and layout
