Axiom, a global leader in alternative legal services, is working with a well-known telecommunications and technology company seeking an experienced regulatory lawyer to join their legal team. This will be a full-time, 9 - 12 month role, based in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a high-caliber team, providing thoughtful and practical legal guidance to a diverse group of internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide timely, strategic, and commercially focused legal advice to support regulatory uplift programs, business decision-making, compliance, and customer outcomes
  • Offer ongoing legal support on regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with telecommunications laws, industry codes, and emerging digital platform regulations
  • Manage regulatory enforcement matters by mitigating legal risks, offering customer-focused advice, supervising external resources, and ensuring timely stakeholder reporting
  • Promote legal and regulatory compliance through team training, education, and support for readiness and adherence to new and existing laws

Requirements

  • Qualified Australian solicitor with over 5 years of legal experience
  • Specializing in regulatory and telecommunications matters
  • Holding a law degree
  • Experience in telecommunications or regulatory fields
  • Adept at working in fast-paced environments and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
  • Skilled in delivering commercially focused legal and regulatory support
  • Strong abilities in drafting, negotiation, project management, and communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office tools
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels
