Located about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne on the shores of Blackman Lake, Camp Potawotami has over 210 acres of woodlands, meadows, wetlands, and hiking trails.
Job Responsibility:
Provide supervision, support, and leadership to teen leaders
Assist Teen Supervisor with Teen Leadership Program
Plan, schedule, and implement programming for the teen leaders
Ensure teen leadership training and sessions are appropriate and provide opportunities to help them grow as individuals and leaders
Work with cabin leaders to evaluate teen leaders each week and within the scope of their program
Complete a service project with the teen leaders
Assign Clippers’ shadow week (2nd week) in collaboration with the Activity and Inclusion Coordinator
Prioritize safety and well-being for teen leaders. Respond quickly and effectively to a wide variety of situations, including possible emergencies, while maintaining composure and keeping students calm. Follow all policies and procedures, and report incidents, injuries, or hazards immediately while on the job or at camp
Promote diversity by including all campers. View diversity as an asset
Adhere to established ACA standards and Camp’s Policies and Procedures
Perform any additional tasks assigned by Teen Supervisor
Requirements:
Must be at least 19 years of age
At least one year of college education is preferred
At least one year of working with children and/or youth or resident camp is preferred
Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills
Excellent human relations skills and enthusiasm
Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency
Proficient in digital media and application
An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively
Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor
