Builds and maintains technology-based supplier relationships for T-Mobile, specifically supporting cell site backhaul and network connectivity solutions. Establishes, continually negotiates, and maintains all commercial terms and contracts with our suppliers. Owns and drives strategic sourcing initiatives including Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotations (RFQ), and Requests for Information (RFI). Helps to drive T-Mobile's strategic direction within network infrastructure and connectivity categories of spend. Leads and supports cross-functional sourcing groups, ensuring supplier performance, and drives strategic sourcing initiatives. This also includes sourcing plan management, supplier issue tracking/resolution, project status communication, and risk assessment across a large, diverse supplier base supporting nationwide network deployments.
Job Responsibility:
Competitively sourcing technology spend through RFP, RFI, and RFQs, with a focus on telecom network infrastructure and backhaul solutions (e.g., fiber, Ethernet, wavelength services)
Drafting, negotiating, and executing contractual documents including but not limited to master service agreements, statements of work, letter agreements, and purchase orders for high-volume circuit procurement
Supplier management – supporting the evolution of supplier management through supplier scorecard development, performance management, and quarterly business reviews across a large portfolio of regional and national telecom providers
Drive sourcing strategies for large-scale, high-volume circuit deployments (1G/10G/100G+), balancing cost, speed to deploy, and network resiliency
Intellectual property licensing procurement & structural guidance, where applicable to network technologies
Liaise with technical personnel (engineering, transport, and network planning teams) to interpret technical specifications (e.g., route diversity, latency, capacity requirements) into commercial and financial outcomes
Summarize and present business cases, supplier strategies, and agreements for executive review and approval
Manage supplier escalations related to delivery, performance, and contractual obligations impacting network deployment timelines
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or related field
4–7 years – Experience in technology sourcing, telecom/network engineering, or a similar role supporting infrastructure procurement
4–7 years – Experience managing Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules, and associated project materials in a mid to large size company
Experience working with telecom carriers, fiber providers, or network infrastructure vendors preferred
