We're hiring for a Technology Risk Manager, in this individual contributor role you will play a pivotal role in embedding effective risk management across our technology business units. You’ll ensure technology risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed, supporting a business undergoing significant transformation, including large-scale system modernisation, cloud migration, and automation initiatives. You will facilitate both strategic and operational oversight of technology risks, enabling safe innovation, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience throughout the logistics value chain. Working closely with Enterprise Services technology, operations, and business teams, you’ll provide specialist advice, insight, and guidance to ensure robust risk management practices are in place, including within cloud environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of technology risk management in a business undergoing significant transformation, driving innovation and resilience across the organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead proactive identification, assessment, and facilitate mitigation of technology risks across operational environments and transformation programs
  • Plan and execute regular and ad-hoc reviews into areas of significant technological risks
  • Partner with delivery teams, architects, and operational leaders to integrate risk management into business-as-usual processes and project lifecycles
  • Lead the development of BU level risk profiles
  • Embed the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework for technology and digital operations within Line 1
  • Facilitate regular risk and control assessments and timely remediation of identified gaps
  • Develop and implement risk management processes, libraries and documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and consistency in governance processes, reporting, and escalation pathways
  • Provide risk advisory support for technology operations and systems within transformation projects
  • Review and challenge technology designs, change management processes, and vendor engagements from a risk perspective
  • Ensure alignment of risk management with business continuity and disaster recovery planning
  • Effectively influence stakeholders to negotiate and agree appropriate risk recognition, mitigation plans, and resource commitments
  • Partner with Line 2 Risk, Internal Audit, and Technology Operations to maintain a consistent and integrated risk view
  • Build strong relationships with IT delivery leads, cyber security teams, and business units
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives on key risk exposures, emerging threats, and control enhancements
  • Facilitate balanced discussions for progressing risk mitigation vs risk acceptance
  • Deliver high-quality, data-driven risk reporting for executive and board-level audiences
  • Provide insights into technology risk trends, key risk indicators (KRIs), and control maturity
  • Monitor external developments in technology, logistics, and cyber risk landscapes to inform decision-making

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Technology Risk or IT Governance within large, complex organisations
  • Proven track record in risk management supporting technology or digital functions
  • Expertise in technology, digital and information governance, security risk, and operational frameworks such as ISO27001/2, ITIL, E8, NIST, and COBIT
  • Familiarity with APRA CPS 230/234, ISO 31000, or equivalent risk standards
  • Ability to translate and present complex technical and operational information into simple business language
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and engage senior business and technology leaders
  • Maintaining strong objective relationships beyond span of control
