As a member of the ADL Technology Team, this role will support critical systems running automated laboratory and manufacturing processes. Lead the deployment and execution of business and technology strategies to drive operational excellence, innovation, and transformation across a complex manufacturing environment. This role combines strategic planning, advanced technology integration, and focused user adoption to deliver measurable business outcomes. This position will report to the Associate Director, Technology in Ireland. Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 20% may be required.
Job Responsibility:
Effectively manage relationships with Technology service owners, business partners, enterprise service partners and delivery of L2 support services to customers
Collaborate in the development and implementation of strategies for coordination of site installations of Amgen's corporate managed computing systems
Create collaborative relationships with corporate and remote site Technology groups to harmonize practices and support
Drive operating model transformation to optimization for the delivery of mission-critical technology operations
Accelerate value while de-risking delivery
Deliver improved service availability, enable technology modernization programs, process automation, and foster a culture of agile innovation to enhance technology service delivery and manufacturing competitiveness
Refine the technology strategy and roadmap for the site in alignment with the key operations drivers of reliability, efficiency, agility and differentiation
Deliver results through integrating advanced technologies, operating model optimisations including Portfolio Management, Service Management, Reliability Engineering, and Scaled Agile
Support the development and implementation of an overall technology systems strategic plan for the site, evolving performance metrics and governance frameworks to enhancing KPIs, through monitoring the progress and delivery accountability of organizational objectives
Evolve the technology demand intake management process, deployment / user adoption, implementing governance, program management, metrics, and systems to ensure strategic customer objectives are successfully delivered
Embed user feedback loops and education programs to ensure new capabilities are trusted, intuitive and impactive
Lead cross functional customer technology adoption initiatives and delivery of efficiencies (Generative AI, advanced data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, Internet of things (IoT), modelling and simulation, Virtual and Augmented reality, advanced visions system, digital twins, observability, process automation) to improve productivity, enabling velocity and scale to meet rapid factory expansion in coordination with stakeholders
Acts as thebridge between technology projects and technology operational execution, translating objectives into actionable plans
Collaborate with the various Technology organisations in Amgen which are critical to the effective use of technology
Build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders, global consultancies and suppliers
Deliver clear, data driven reporting on initiative progress, value realization, technology risks and posture
Become a trusted partner with groups such as Production Management, Quality Assurance management, and various support organizations, fostering transparency and working to identify critical business issues and then develop an operations technology system plan to prioritise and resolve these issues
Monitor external technology changes and be a source of continuous innovation, facilitating speed to and in market and competitive advantage
Leverage technology to drive innovation in the business
Develop technology employee capabilities in Problem-Solving methodologies, Data Analytics, Lean, SAFe, Change Management and Business Relationship Management
Demonstrate the ability to develop a strategic workforce plan and establish a Model of Record (MoR) that incorporates headcount forecasts, capacity assumptions, and demand drivers to support accurate resource planning and decision-making
Understands current best practices and emerging technologies in software applications (mobile, SaaS) security, validated/ cGMP compliant systems, infrastructure, cloud, data, advanced analytics, simulation & modelling, machine learning and artificial intelligence

Requirements:
Doctorate degree and 6 years of Information System and/or manufacturing technology experience
Master’s degree and 10 years of Information System and/or manufacturing technology experience
Bachelor's degree and 12 years of Information System and/or manufacturing technology experience
6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Nice to have:
10+ years of Information System and/or manufacturing technology experience
Computer Science, Manufacturing Automation or Information System educational background
Technical depth across Information and Operations Technology (IT/OT)
Proven experience in strategic planning, value stream mapping, demand management, and execution within growing organization
Expertise in IT operations management, service management, and reliability engineering
Strong knowledge of advanced technologies: Generative AI, IoT, Cloud, Observability, Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation, Manufacturing Execution Systems
Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technology change and drive user adoption
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience engaging with senior stakeholders and executive leadership
Ability to translate Operations’ aspirations for leveraging data and advanced analytics into the reality of detailed actions in the laboratory, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, and Technology organizations
Knowledge of system solutions in the following functional areas in a pharmaceutical or biotech organization: logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, procurement and purchasing, accounts payable/accounting, process automation and manufacturing execution systems
Experience in the complex manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotech industries related to the design and utilization of business and computer systems
Experience at resolving issues, designing strategies and implementing solutions as they pertain to global, multi system environments
Experience at developing system migration and evolution strategies and turning the strategies into plans which are implemented
Demonstration of effective coordination of business process and system issues across multiple departments and multiple functions
Experience in mentoring, motivating, leading and managing information systems groups of business system analysts and other information technology professionals, responsible for support of multiple systems, applications and functional areas
Adaptability, teamwork and decisiveness in rapidly changing/growing business environments
