Job Description:

The USPB Technology Data Lead Engineer is a senior management level position responsible for designing and implementing unified data strategies that align with Citi’s data governance and technology policies. The lead will combine hands-on data and application development with management of a team with technical and governance of data processes. The role requires leading the evolution of our data platform and building data products and self-service solutions for risk users.

Job Responsibility:

Design and implement data strategies for all USPB Risk applications, including collection, storage and integrations to ensure fit for purpose data
Ensure data security and compliance are aligned with internal policies, consistent with regulations and standards
Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
Provide hands on technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to a team of engineers to deliver high quality, robust and scalable solutions within budget and defined timelines
Work collaboratively with product owners, architects and lead engineers to develop secure, reliable and performant systems that meet business requirements

Requirements:

10+ years of relevant experience
Experience in applications development
Experience with ETL tools/ technologies handling Big Data
Experience in management
Experience managing global technology teams
Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
