Job Responsibility
Operate orbiter machines in accordance with established procedures and production requirements
Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to support optimal machine operation
Perform routine maintenance activities including cleaning, inspections, lubrication, and component replacement
Support preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability
Diagnose and tackle mechanical and electrical equipment issues
Perform repairs and adjustments to restore equipment to proper operating condition
Document maintenance activities, solving efforts, and repair outcomes accurately
Ensure orbiter equipment consistently produces high-quality medical devices that meet Baxter quality standards and regulatory requirements
Conduct quality inspections and equipment checks to verify performance within established parameters
Identify and escalate quality concerns while supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to support manufacturing operations
Provide technical guidance and support related to orbiter equipment operation and maintenance
Assist with training team members on equipment procedures and best practices
Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
Support Baxter's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and contribute to a zero-harm workplace culture
Follow all GMP, FDA, ISO, and safety procedures while ensuring consistency with company policies and laws
Requirements
High school diploma
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably within medical device or regulated manufacturing environments
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
Experience working with manufacturing equipment and repair techniques
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting production equipment within a manufacturing or medical device environment
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement practices
Demonstrated proficiency operating within a production work center or flow line environment
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive hand movements required
Ability to lift materials and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, gloves, and safety glasses
