Job Description:

Position is required to coordinate sample preparation and analytical testing needs across multiple labs. Lab work is also required, including sample preparation and routine analysis to support lab needs. Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills are essential. Must be adaptable to change and strategic to optimize productivity while providing reliable test results.

Job Responsibility:

  • Actively manage sample flow to include receiving samples from submitters, confirming correct identification and test plan, resolving questions on requests by communication with submitters and analysts, routing samples to labs for analysis, communicating special requirements or timelines to team members
  • Coordinate return, disposal or storage for samples upon request completion
  • Consult with analytical lab engineers to develop strategy for complex projects and to establish priorities and timelines
  • Generate summaries to facilitate tracking for open requests
  • Provide set up and training for new LIMS users
  • Order equipment and consumables needed for laboratory operation as requested by team members
  • Perform routine sample preparation and analytical testing. Requires appropriate PPE (may include safety glasses, gloves, lab coat, safety shoes, dust mask). Report results in LIMS
  • Strictly adhere to standard procedures developed at the Technology Center
  • Follow all EHS practices
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion

Requirements:

  • Technical degree (science, math, computer) or high school diploma and 3-5 years practical experience in a technical function
  • Attention to detail

  • Proactive approach for safety and continuous improvement
  • Collaboration with trust and respect in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to address high volume workload while maintaining standards for safety and quality
