The Technician, LV Wire Harness is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting low-voltage wiring harnesses and cable assemblies to support generator production. This role ensures all builds meet defined electrical, mechanical, and quality standards while supporting both prototype and full-scale manufacturing. The technician contributes to efficient, high-quality production by following detailed work instructions, maintaining traceability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Job Responsibility:
Assemble low-voltage wiring harnesses using drawings, schematics, and work instructions
Cut, strip, crimp, splice, and terminate wires using approved tools and methods
Install connectors, terminals, boots, heat shrink, grommets, and labels per specifications
Route and bundle wiring using loom, braid, sleeving, clamps, and tie wraps following best practices
Support integration of harnesses into genset subassemblies as needed
Perform continuity, polarity, and basic functional testing on completed harnesses
Inspect crimps, terminals, pin retention, and insulation for quality and compliance
Verify wire colors, gauges, lengths, and connector orientation
Document defects and collaborate with quality teams to resolve nonconformances
Execute builds using job travelers, schematics, harness drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Maintain component traceability and serial number tracking as required
Follow revision-controlled documentation and support engineering change orders (ECOs)
Provide feedback to engineering on design improvements, simplification, and tooling needs
Operate hand and power tools, including crimpers, wire strippers, heat guns, torque drivers, and pin extractors
Follow ESD protection practices when handling sensitive components
Maintain organized, 5S-compliant workstations
Perform basic tool maintenance and calibration checks
Partner with engineering, quality, and test teams to resolve build issues
Support pilot builds, new product introduction (NPI), and prototype development
Assist in training and mentoring team members as needed
Requirements:
1–3 years of hands-on wiring or electrical assembly experience (automotive, aerospace, EV, industrial equipment, or similar)
Experience with generator sets, industrial equipment, or mobile power systems
Experience in pilot production, new product introduction (NPI), or R&D environments
IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Class 2 or Class 3) preferred
Basic soldering experience
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, pinouts, and cable lists
Proficiency in crimping, stripping, terminal installation, and wire routing
Familiarity with low-voltage wiring harness design and manufacturing
Experience using electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeter, continuity tester)
