They ensure that each event is flawlessly executed, and work with the rest of the team to setup and strike down each event in a timely manner. Job Responsibility

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the department
  • Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section
  • Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication
  • Meets with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met, and the equipment setup is working properly
  • Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day
  • Understands and fosters the hotel or client relationship
  • Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues
  • Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner
  • Follow all venue safety requirements and supplier protocols
  • Understands company processes, follows procedures and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately
  • Uses the equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for set up and for strike
  • Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment
  • Completes order entries in Navigator, as needed
  • Load, unload, or store gear and equipment, as needed
  • Preparing, labeling, and scanning equipment, as needed
  • Learn about the inner workings of the industry
  • Develop professional skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
  • Receive feedback and guidance from experienced colleagues

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program
  • Some customer service or hospitality experience is preferred
  • Some audio-visual experience or equivalent in educational environment is preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn

  • Learn to utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track all equipment assets and to complete work order requests for maintenance work.
  • Safely and quickly respond to and support onsite incident response teams for all abnormal conditions that impact operations, and coordinates with other critical facilities professionals to perform corrective repairs, with supervision.
  • Learn to follow preexisting emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in relation to CE operations and incidents.
  • Under oversight, perform various types of maintenance (e.g., planned, predictive, corrective) and repairs following methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for one or more types of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, cooling systems), correct procedures.
  • Learn by shadowing and training through our In-house program a hands-on understanding of how equipment works and how to troubleshoot equipment, systems, subsystems, and components independently within their trained discipline i.e. Electrical.
  • Understands, follows, and ensures safety and security requirements (e.g., job hazard assessments [JHAs], environmental health and safety (EH&S), toolbox talks), and business processes and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, quality, and reliable within Microsoft requirements.
