Job Description:

As a Technician III, Maintenance, you will play a critical role in the operational reliability of Moderna’s manufacturing and support infrastructure in Norwood. You’ll lead hands-on activities for preventive and corrective maintenance, while serving as the primary first responder for equipment-related issues. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of both GMP and non-GMP systems, driving equipment performance, supporting investigations, and enhancing reliability. The role also includes oversight of service providers, equipment changeovers, and execution of safety protocols. You will work cross-functionally with engineers and system owners and contribute to Moderna’s cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities, with the opportunity to get close to the emerging world of digitalization and Generative AI tools for smart maintenance insights.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on all process equipment and systems
  • Leading the development of remediation strategies for follow-up and emergency work
  • Serving as the first responder to equipment issues
  • Troubleshooting complex equipment and system malfunctions
  • Managing contract service providers
  • Supporting facility operations with rotating on-call responsibilities
  • Maintaining spare parts, tools, and equipment inventories
  • Administering hazardous energy control and confined space entry procedures
  • Documenting all maintenance activities in cGMP-compliant records
  • Collaborating with equipment owners and engineers
  • Leading small projects and maintenance initiatives
  • Performing equipment changeovers and setup
  • Developing and maintaining OJT records
  • Contributing to reliability initiatives and asset management strategies
  • Executing additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • AS degree or certificate in a science/technical field or a technical trade school
  • 5-7 years of experience
