We are seeking a skilled Contract Technical Writer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will draft, review, and refine critical procurement-related documentation, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with departmental needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop tailored contractual language that addresses unique business requirements, going beyond standard templates to create precise and effective agreements.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and review documentation for procurement activities, including but not limited to purchase orders, service agreements, vendor contracts, modifications, and amendments
Create comprehensive contract documentation, including scopes of services, performance requirements, and terms and conditions
Develop clear, precise language defining delivery schedules, service levels, quality standards, and pricing structures for procured services or products
Ensure all documentation is clear, consistent, and compliant with organizational protocols, procedures, and requirements
Coordinate with business units, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather input and incorporate necessary details into contracts
Maintain an internal documentation library, organizing and updating files for easy access and version control
Provide or coordinate specialized documentation services as needed
Oversee special projects related to contract development or documentation processes, ensuring timely completion and high-quality outputs.
Requirements:
Proven experience in technical writing, with a focus on contracts, procurement, or legal documentation
Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce concise, unambiguous, and professional language
Demonstrated capability to develop original contractual language based on specific business needs, rather than relying solely on templates
Familiarity with procurement processes, contract law basics, and risk management in agreements is highly preferred
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, Law, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and document management tools.
Nice to have:
Experience in a government, corporate, or regulated industry environment
Knowledge of contract management software (e.g., DocuSign, ContractWorks)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, contract-based role.
