Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team, focusing on creating high-quality documentation for networking products. In this role, you will work on moderately complex content, including technical modules, multi-step processes, release notes, and other product-related materials. Your ability to translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation will be essential to supporting internal and external users, as well as contributing to the success of our products.

Job Responsibility

  • Create and maintain moderately complex documentation, including product content, release notes, modules, multi-step processes, and short topics
  • Research technical topics with some guidance to produce accurate and informative content
  • Write in a clear, concise, and structured manner while adhering to established style guides and standards
  • Proofread and edit documentation for grammar, formatting, structure, and technical accuracy
  • Ensure consistency and clarity across all documentation deliverables
  • Use technical writing tools such as MadCap Flare, Oxygen, or FrameMaker to create and publish content
  • Manage source content using tools like Git (Bitbucket), Jira, and Confluence
  • Organize, store, and maintain documents within repositories and content management systems
  • Identify and suggest improvements in documentation workflows and processes
  • Demonstrate a understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security (e.g., firewalls, VPNs)
  • Understand and follow the documentation development lifecycle (DDLC) and content lifecycle management processes
  • Meet project timelines and deliverables while managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload effectively
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including SMEs, developers, and QA, to gather information and clarify details
  • Build strong working relationships with team members across different time zones and geographic locations
  • Clearly convey ideas and ask thoughtful questions to gain a better understanding of technical concepts
  • Deliver verbal updates and presentations with clarity and professionalism
  • Work as an integral member of the team, contributing to shared goals and supporting team success
  • Foster a respectful and collaborative environment with peers and other departments

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the technology or networking domain
  • Understanding of software and hardware concepts, with a focus on networking technologies
  • Familiarity with core networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with tools such as MadCap Flare, Oxygen, FrameMaker, and source management platforms like Git (Bitbucket), Jira, and Confluence
  • Strong command of grammar, structure, and technical accuracy
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation tailored to the audience
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to gather information and produce high-quality content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on professionalism and clarity
  • General understanding of project timelines, content lifecycle management, and Agile/Waterfall methodologies

Nice to have

Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) or cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network)
