Ema is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will transform complex technical information about our products and services into clear, concise, and engaging content for a variety of audiences. This role is critical in ensuring our users, engineers, and internal teams and GTM teams have access to accurate and easy-to-understand documentation that supports product adoption and success.
Job Responsibility:
Develop Technical Documentation: Research, plan, write, and edit high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, knowledge base articles, tutorials, and release notes
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, developers, and subject matter experts at Ema to gather information and ensure the accuracy and technical completeness of all content
Manage Documentation Projects: Oversee documentation projects from initiation to completion, prioritizing deliverables, managing timelines, and working within the agile software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Ensure Content Quality and Consistency: Edit and proofread content to ensure it adheres to Ema's style guide, maintains a consistent voice, and meets high standards for clarity and accuracy
Maintain and Improve Documentation: Regularly update and maintain existing documentation to reflect product changes and new features, and actively seek feedback to continuously improve documentation processes and usability
Requirements:
Proven work experience (two or more years preferred) as an effective Technical Writer, ideally in a product saas company
Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with content management systems (CMS), version control systems (e.g., Git), and documentation tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a natural curiosity to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, or a technical field like Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
