Job Description:

Help shape the next generation of rail professionals! We’re looking for a passionate Technical Trainer to join our Training Operations team in Kilburn. In this hands-on role, you will deliver high-quality training, assessment and certification to Aurizon employees and contractors—ensuring our people have the skills, confidence and capability to operate safely and effectively across the rail network. If you’re motivated by developing others, love being in the field, and want a Monday–Friday role with no shift work, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

Job Responsibility:

Deliver and support a range of rail operations training programs, including Certificate IV in Train Driving across key operational subjects such as Safeworking, Shunting and Train Examination
Deliver Engine & Airbrake Training Schools to build technical competency across locomotive operations
Leverage technology—including Virtual Reality training and future simulator-based learning—to enhance capability in a safe and controlled environment
Conduct on-job assessments and provide in-field coaching to trainees and operational staff
Identify training needs, support process improvements and contribute to continuous uplift in driver capability

Requirements:

Certificate IV in Train Driving (or equivalent)
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) or willingness to obtain
Experience delivering training within the rail industry (highly regarded)
Strong communication and coaching capability, with the confidence to work with trainees, drivers and operational leaders
A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety excellence
