Job Responsibility:

  • Provide technical expertise in costumes, lighting, sound, loading, rigging, props, and carpentry
  • construct set pieces and assist with load-ins and load-outs
  • assist in painting and finishing scenic elements and backdrops
  • operate light board and maintain lighting equipment during production runs
  • operate soundboard and manage audio cues for shows
  • supervise and execute wardrobe maintenance and quick changes
  • assist with load-in, setup, and maintenance of audio and microphone systems

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • carpentry or technical theatre experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible, project-based hours including nights and weekends
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to lift and move heavy equipment
  • familiarity with safety procedures in theatrical environments
  • proactive attitude and ability to work independently
  • willingness to learn and adapt to various technical roles
  • Technical skills in respective theatre disciplines
  • experience with theatrical carpentry, scenic painting, or prop construction
  • familiarity with lighting software such as Vectorworks and Lightwright preferred
  • ability to operate ETC Eos consoles and Q-Lab software
  • experience in sewing and garment construction for costume roles
  • knowledge of theatre backstage operations
  • ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs
  • good communication and teamwork skills

Nice to have:

  • carpentry or technical theatre experience preferred
