Job Description

Are you committed to making a positive impact on the climate? Installio is on the hunt for an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as a Heat Pump surveyor and designer, ready to help tackle the UK’s net-zero transition. As a UK-wide heat pump installation company and a trusted partner for heat pump retailers and manufacturers, our goal is to become the number 1 heat pump installer in the UK. With big ambitions, a commitment to a sustainable future, and a focus on creating an inspiring workplace, Installio is at the forefront tackling the UK's labor shortage in the climate-trades! We're looking for a Technical Survey and Service Engineer to spearhead the surveying and system design process for residential heat pump and solar installations. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring every install is technically sound, energy efficient, and tailored to the customer's home. You’ll lead site surveys (in-person on site), develop accurate heat loss calculations, as well as support our field teams with occasional reactive maintenance and servicing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with hands-on plumbing or renewable heating experience, looking to move off the tools.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead technical site surveys (on-site) to assess heat pump suitability
  • Conduct detailed heat loss calculations and system sizing
  • Provide technical guidance to installation teams and project managers
  • Conduct annual heat pump services and reactive maintenance
  • Support the development of survey and design processes and tools
  • Troubleshoot and refine designs based on real-world feedback from installs
  • Stay current with industry standards, products, and best practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heat pump system
  • Strong understanding of building fabric, heat loss, and hydronic systems
  • Good with customers
  • Familiarity with MCS standards and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance efficiency with accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
  • Willing to drive to up to 2 surveys each day
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • NVQ 3 or above qualification in plumbing or heating

Nice to have

  • BPEC or equivalent qualification in heat pump design
  • Experience leading a team or managing technical workflows

What we offer

  • Bonus plan
  • 28 days of holidays per annum (incl. national holidays)
  • Company vehicle
  • Modern and inspiring work environment
