As an Assistant Manager - Engineering, you will lead and mentor a team of engineers while ensuring the successful delivery of scalable and high-quality software solutions for our services division. You will play a critical role in bridging business requirements with technical execution, driving project timelines, and ensuring engineering excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a team of engineers and ensure timely delivery of projects
Collaborate with Product Managers, Clients, and internal stakeholders to define requirements
Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems
Review code, enforce best practices, and maintain code quality
Drive sprint planning, task allocation, and progress tracking
Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical growth
Coordinate with HR and Operations teams for technical support when required
Contribute to hiring by participating in technical interviews
Take ownership of delivery and client satisfaction for service-based projects
Perform any additional responsibilities as deemed fit by the organization, including training junior resources and supporting cross-functional teams
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
5-8 years in software development with team handling experience
Strong expertise in backend and/or full-stack development
Experience in designing scalable architectures and system design
Proficiency with modern development frameworks and APIs
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and containerization tools
Strong understanding of databases and performance optimization
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, monitoring, logging, and production support practices
Good understanding of secure coding practices, data privacy, access control, and compliance-oriented development practices
Ensure proper technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API documentation, and knowledge-sharing practices across the team
Proven experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams
Ability to drive projects from planning to execution
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, sprint execution, estimation, and delivery tracking
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ownership mindset with a proactive approach
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
