Make your mark as Technical Superintendent docking and ship repairs at Smit Lamnalco. You are responsible for the preparation and execution of dockings and ship repair activities for assigned vessels, including resolving technical issues during repair and docking projects. You coordinate a multidisciplinary team, working closely with relevant departments to ensure clear and effective communication throughout all phases of the work. Smit Lamnalco operates a diverse fleet of approximately 80 vessels, of which around 50% are managed by the Docking Cell. This provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of vessels and take on numerous challenging and technically demanding projects. The anticipated workload includes approximately three dockings per year. The duration of each docking varies but typically does not exceed two months.
Job Responsibility:
Advising, preparing scope of work, and executing docking and ship repair projects
Supporting Smit Lamnalco’s technical department and managing docking and repairs
Ensuring accurate reporting on maintenance such as cost allocation and cost control, in corporation with the assigned project controller
Arranging statutory surveys and maintaining vessel and equipment compliance with Class standards
Taking safety and technical responsibility for vessel and equipment performance during docking projects
Implementing best practices and lessons learned within the technical department
Coordinating repairs and docking activities for crew, subcontractors and shipyards
Upholding safety as our top priority

Requirements:
Higher Professional Education (bachelor): Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Engineering, Nautical Academy (Maroff) or similar study
At least 4 years of relevant nautical experience in a maritime environment
Experience in dockings and ship repairs is a must
Fully conversant with the legislative and regulatory requirements for marine assets
Good command of English, written and spoken
A strong team player with a proactive mindset, solid problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills
Capable of working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
