Job Description:

We seek candidates with demonstrated experience of Linux/HPC cluster management, with a keen interest in delivering and maintaining bespoke SO services on the UK data centre. The post holder will be pivotal in ensuring that the UK data centre delivers a smooth and consistent service for users of both the HPC system and the key SO services. The post holder will be part of a team administering (remotely) the on-site systems in Chile and ensuring data transfer to the UK and other downstream data centres. The successful candidate will also assist users in profiling and optimising their codes on the UK data centre, including identifying any bottlenecks and improving them where possible (in both user codes and the wider system). The post includes scope for leading projects aligned with the objectives of SO and the UK data centre, such as optimising the file system, or assisting with front- or back-end development of the services being deployed.
