Job Description

The Technical Specialist is responsible for the set up and operation of small to large-scale audio-visual systems for live events while ensuring the utmost in client satisfaction. The position often requires the individual to act as a team leader for the onsite departmental teams. This position reports to a Technical Manager, Senior Project Manager or a Technical Events Manager subject to function and region.

Job Responsibility

  • Set up and operation of small to large-scale audio-visual systems for live events
  • Ensure utmost client satisfaction
  • Act as a team leader for onsite departmental teams
  • Work with Project Management/Producer teams to design and implement video systems
  • Assist Labour teams with fulfilling accurate roles
  • Ensure video components are added to technical drawings for events in Vectorworks
  • Full understanding and operation of advanced switching systems for large scale events
  • Plan, design and install multi blended projection systems
  • Design and lead complex multi screen LED display builds
  • Delegate tasks efficiently across large scale projects
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly
  • Comply with all security and safety measures
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with internal team on event solutions
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to develop technical skills
  • Supervise and direct other technicians during an event
  • Assist with proper preparation, security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment
  • Perform inventory and forecasting of equipment needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • 4+ years of field experience in specialty area is required.
  • 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
