This is a key role within the business, reporting directly to the Technical Manager and providing support and cover in their absence. The successful candidate will play a central role in maintaining technical standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the site remains fully audit-ready at all times.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Technical Manager and deputise in their absence when required
Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all policies and procedures are current, compliant, and effectively implemented
Lead site HACCP activities, including reviews, validations, and ongoing compliance
Own and manage the internal audit schedule, ensuring robust standards and continuous audit readiness
Support and lead external visits, including customer audits and BRC audits
Manage the site complaints system, ensuring timely investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Lead, manage, and develop members of the technical team, promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across the site
Requirements:
Proven experience managing and leading a technical or quality team within food manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of BRC standards and HACCP, with hands-on experience
Previous experience working to retailer standards is essential
Confident supporting and hosting customer and third-party audits
Highly organised, detail-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
