We are seeking a Technical Services Manager to serve as Skipper NDT’s primary technical authority in North America. This role centers on deep technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities. As our technical authority, expertise in geomatics, data processing, and physics is required to deliver exceptional technical support to clients and partners.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary technical resource for external client discussions
Act as the voice of authority on Skipper NDT’s technology platform
Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences
Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise during client presentations and proposals
Translate client needs into clear requirements to shape competitive proposals
Actively participate in key industry conferences and technical forums (PPIM, IPC, API, PRCI, etc.)
Develop and present technical papers showcasing Skipper NDT’s technology and case studies
Represent Skipper NDT at industry events, trade shows, and technical committee meetings
Build Skipper NDT’s reputation as the thought leader in pipeline magnetometry
Network with industry stakeholders to advance awareness of Skipper NDT’s technologies and emerging applications
Lead the development and review of final technical reports for clients
Present all reports directly to clients, serving as the authoritative voice on report contents and findings
Ensure deliverables meet the highest quality standards and client specifications
Enhance standardized reporting templates and methodologies
Support project management activities as needed to ensure successful project execution
Supervise the design and ensure the efficient delivery of technical training programs by our field team to third parties
Ensure partners are fully equipped to deploy Skipper NDT technology effectively
Establish and execute operator certification programs, including initial training, competency assessments, and renewal protocols for internal and third-party personnel
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5-10 years of experience in the pipeline integrity industry
Strong expertise in pipeline inspection methodologies and asset integrity management principles, especially IMU and geohazards
Proven track record working with new or emerging technologies
Excellent communication skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated experience presenting to clients and industry audiences
Willingness to travel throughout North America (up to 50%)
Nice to have:
Familiarity with drone applications or geospatial data analysis
Knowledge of pipeline integrity regulations (e.g., PHMSA, CSA)
Experience with drones
Existing relationships with major pipeline operators
Experience developing technical training programs
Published technical papers or presentations at industry conferences
Active participation in industry associations or technical committees
