Job Description:

Our client, a highly respected and rapidly growing business within the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Technical Services Manager to strengthen their technical division. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic company that continues to expand while maintaining its strong reputation for quality and innovation. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and developing the technical department. You'll be responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), overseeing supplier approval processes, and ensuring compliance with both customer and industry standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the site Quality Management System, ensuring all documentation and procedures are up to date
  • Oversee the supplier approval system, ensuring all suppliers are properly assessed and approved
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager when required, providing leadership and continuity within the department
  • Lead and develop the Technical Services team, promoting a culture of quality, improvement, and accountability
  • Manage internal and external audit schedules and support the business through third-party and customer audits
  • Ensure all products are fully compliant with customer, legal, and industry standards
  • Drive continuous improvement across technical and quality functions

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a technical or quality function
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and retailer standards
  • Previous experience managing and leading audits (internal, external, and customer)
  • Experience working directly with retail customers and managing retailer specifications
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail
