The Technical Service Delivery Lead plays a critical role in ensuring project teams’ delivery high-quality, valuable outcomes efficiently and effectively and aims to reduce the overall cost of delivering customer value. More hands-on than an Agile Coach or Scrum Master, this role is embedded in operational teams, and responsible for ensuring efficient and effective delivery of customer value by proactively identifying and addressing risks, resolving dependencies, and optimizing team flow to service the project management team requirements. The Technical Service Delivery Lead brings strong portfolio management practices into execution, ensuring alignment with business priorities whilst maintaining a sustainable pace of delivery and collaborates closely with the project and programme managers, area leaders, and Engineers to ensure teams are regularly delivering customer outcomes within business and operational guardrails and budgets. Along with resource management across a number of operational teams to ensure effective project milestone deliveries and workflow packages, this particular role comes with people management responsibilities for a team of up to 6 members.
Job Responsibility:
Drive the end-to-end delivery of project deliveries via cross department work packages and resourcing, ensuring work is well-sequenced, dependencies are managed, and risks are mitigated
Accountable for ensuring teams are creating and maintaining realistic delivery plans (capacity, milestones, releases, benefits realization) with the ability to call out issues early based on progress to plan data
Partner with Project Managers, Engineering Leads to balance delivery speed, technical health, customer and business value
Data-driven continuous improvements and optimisation of ways of working that enable teams to deliver incrementally while maintaining high-quality standards
Responsible for the end-to-end ownership of all agile ceremonies to ensure effectiveness and value toward to delivery of customer value
Support teams in breaking down work into achievable increments that deliver customer value faster
Accountable for effective status reporting, identification of trends, and delivering compelling insights to inform teams and senior leadership
Responsible for objective analysis of benefits realisation and intended goals as baselined at the start of initiatives
Responsible for ensuring project and delivery teams’ work aligns with broader portfolio objectives and strategic priorities
Accountable for surfacing and resolving cross-team dependencies and constraints early, coordinating with other Delivery Leads and stakeholders
Drive appropriate delivery systems and tools to enable progress to plan visibility between product teams and the wider organisation, ensuring transparency of progress, risks, and trade-offs
Proactively identify delivery risks and accountability for ensuring mitigation strategies are in place
Facilitate the right conversations to align stakeholders, clear roadblocks, and enable teams to move forward effectively
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data and feedback to enhance team efficiency, collaboration, and predictability
Foster a strong delivery culture within the team, ensuring a shared understanding of goals and accountability
Champion and scale out agile, systems thinking, value stream, and lean practices with pragmatism and practicality – demonstrating through data what works for the team and business
Work closely with Engineering, Project, and Design leaders to create an environment where teams can thrive for future improvements in deliveries
Ensure delivery scope remains as documented or is documented, approved and costed for within defined processes
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Delivery Lead, Scrum Master, Programme Delivery, or similar role, owning end to end delivery across multiple teams or workstreams
Strong track record of driving delivery through cross functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Design, and Project Management, with clear ownership of sequencing work, managing dependencies, and mitigating risks
Demonstrable experience creating, maintaining, and challenging delivery plans that cover capacity, milestones, releases, and benefits realisation, with confidence in calling out issues early using progress and data
Strong proficiency in running and ability to recommend improvements across Atlassian tooling within our ecosystem, including
Jira Software, confluence and Atlassian Analytics
People management skills, to effectively manage a small team with 1-2-1’s, goal setting and tracking, along with general team engagement and control
