Job Description

Demand for our Arco brand ranges is accelerating rapidly, fuelled by a series of new customer wins. We’re significantly investing in our Technical Sales capability to sustain and amplify the strong growth trajectory we’re experiencing. To support rising demand across our Gloves and Footwear ranges, we’re recruiting two Technical Sales Specialists — one covering the North of the UK and one the South — to play a pivotal role in our next phase of growth. These are new roles, created by commercial momentum. As part of a team of technical experts, you’ll turn your product knowledge and experience into commercial advantage by developing new business opportunities and working in close partnership with our wider Sales teams. By upskilling and empowering our regional and strategic colleagues, you’ll help unlock greater value across key accounts, helping to capitalise on our Build for Growth strategy.

Job Responsibility

  • Developing and delivering a UK business development strategy focused on industrial gloves and footwear, aligned to Arco’s overall commercial objectives
  • Identifying, targeting, and converting new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships
  • Promoting our safety footwear range alongside gloves as part of a broader PPE solution where appropriate
  • Building strong relationships with end users, procurement teams, health & safety professionals, and operational stakeholders
  • Adapting sales approach to suit different risk profiles, working environments, and customer needs
  • Maintaining strong awareness of EN ISO standards for industrial gloves, including EN ISO 21420, EN 388 and EN ISO 374
  • Providing guidance to customers and internal teams on glove selection, performance ratings, and correct usage
  • Translating technical information into clear commercial and safety benefits
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for industrial gloves within the sales organisation, leading internal upskilling activities to contribute to raising overall capability and confidence in hand protection selling
  • Supporting sales teams through joint customer visits, demonstrations, and solution building discussions
  • Providing insight and feedback to commercial, category, and marketing teams to support range development and go to market strategy
  • Supporting cross category selling opportunities by linking hand protection with footwear and broader PPE needs

Requirements

  • Commercially focused and solution orientated with proven experience in business development or technical sales in the UK industrial glove market, including applications and customer buying drivers
  • Awareness of EN ISO standards applicable to industrial gloves
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence customers and internal sales teams
  • A confident trainer and coach, with experience of developing and supporting wider sales teams
  • Background in PPE manufacturing, distribution, or category focused sales roles
  • Customer focused with a collaborative mindset
  • Self motivated and comfortable operating autonomously
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally

Nice to have

Experience promoting or selling safety footwear and awareness of safety footwear standards and protective classifications is desirable

What we offer

  • A highly competitive starting salary plus uncapped commission scheme and a company car or car allowance
  • 32 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
  • Opportunity to purchase 5 additional days annual leave each calendar year (subject to qualifying salary)
  • 2 fully paid Community Volunteering days every year
  • An excellent pension (up to 8% Arco contribution) and x4 Life Assurance scheme
  • A huge range of discounts to help with cost of living via Perkbox plus Employee Discount on Arco products
  • Free, 24-hour access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Health Cash Plan where we'll reimburse up to 100% of everyday healthcare costs
  • Access to our Learning Management System, to support your personal and career development
  • Long-term service awards
