A premier manufacturer of custom-engineered rubber and plastic solutions, is seeking a high-performing Technical Sales Manager to join their growing team. In this pivotal role, you won't just be selling products from a catalog; you will be delivering high-stakes technical solutions. Based in the Guelph area with a focus on the GTA and Ontario market, you will represent a company known for its precision in manufacturing custom grommets, seals, and large-scale plastic trays for the automotive, agriculture, mining, and solar industries. As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring that every solution meets the exact dimensions and tolerances required by your clients. In the industrial manufacturing landscape, this is a true 'hunter' sales role. You will be responsible for aggressive new business development while managing high-value existing accounts, such as major supply agreements in the mining sector. The ideal Technical Sales Manager is someone who thrives on independence and possesses a deep mechanical aptitude. Whether you are using a vertical caliper or a micrometer to verify specifications or navigating long sales cycles—ranging from two months for rubber parts to six months for complex plastics—your goal is to provide an unparalleled level of technical consultation. Joining this team means stepping into a fast-paced environment where the company is expanding to three shifts to meet increasing demand. ... Communication is a cornerstone of success for any Technical Sales Manager. While this specific role is focused on the Ontario and GTA corridor and does not require bilingualism, the ability to clearly articulate technical value propositions to professional engineers is essential. You will be expected to spend approximately three days per week on the road, building face-to-face relationships, and two days in the office coordinating with the leadership team. As a sales professional at this level, you will work independently but with the full support of a global leader in talent solutions.
