Job Description

In the role of Technical Sales Engineer - Temporary Works, you will support projects and tenders with technical expertise and/or advice to develop temporary works solutions. Your approach will be to drive best practise in identifying, designing, and documenting temporary works solutions to position Coates Engineering Solutions as a market leader in the delivery of building, and infrastructure projects

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and promote Coates Hire’s Safety First - Zero Harm safety culture
  • Process opportunities through meeting with clients, gathering information and sending Design Requests to the internal technical department at Coates
  • Assist in the management of Temporary Works Solutions from opportunity right through to project delivery
  • Work with Stakeholders such as Consultants, Contractors and Clients in order to facilitate safe and efficient solutions
  • Develop and deliver technical training internally and where required on-site support such as toolbox talks
  • Working with multiple departments & teams including the Technical, Installations and Branch Operations in order to facilitate the delivery of a successful temporary works project
  • Apply and promote consistency in temporary works engineering practices and knowledge sharing across the business
  • Seek out opportunities for Temporary Works Solutions through internal account managers, engineering consultants, contractors and market tenders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
  • A minimum of 2 Years’ experience in providing technical Solutions in preferably temporary works
  • The ability to develop strong relationships and networks within the temporary works industry
  • Preferably, you have some knowledge across one or more of the commonly used Temporary Works Proprietary Systems such as Structural Propping, Excavation Retention, Dewatering and Water Treatment
  • A sound understanding of construction methodologies and techniques on civil and building projects desirable
  • Optimism, enthusiasm and a desire to provide the best solutions and service to customers.
