Job Description:

We are currently recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer for an industry-leading rail company. The position drives growth within the rail infrastructure market by combining engineering expertise with commercial capability, focusing on developing technically sound, commercially viable solutions for track based systems and managing major opportunities from early engagement through to contract award and delivery oversight, while acting as the technical and commercial link between customers and internal teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across rail infrastructure portfolios
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with rail asset owners, contractors, and engineering partners
  • Analyse customer requirements to shape technical and commercial solutions
  • Lead major opportunities through EOI, RFQ, tendering, and contract negotiation
  • Coordinate internal teams to deliver compliant, competitive proposals
  • Act as the primary customer contact throughout opportunity development and delivery
  • Provide technical guidance on track infrastructure systems and engineering considerations
  • Maintain opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and reporting

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification such as Engineering, Construction, or Project Management
  • 5+ years’ experience in rail environments in either delivery or OEM/Product-based organisations
  • Proven experience in technical sales, business development, engineering, or project delivery roles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with ERP systems
