The Technical Sales Enablement Manager plays a key role in enhancing distributor sales performance and driving customer engagement with the Generac Industrial Energy brand and product portfolio. This customer-facing position is responsible for delivering impactful sales training both at the factory and in the field, conducting evaluations to identify best practices and performance gaps, and contributing to the development and refinement of sales tools and content. Additionally, the role collaborates closely with Marketing and Sales Enablement teams to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment across customer-facing efforts.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the sales team to evaluate sales representation effectiveness and identify performance gaps through structured analysis
Design, develop, and maintain sales tools and content that enhance representative effectiveness and drive revenue growth
Deliver comprehensive sales training programs, including factory-based sessions and targeted in-field training for industrial sales teams within Generac industrial and our North American dealer channels
Facilitate distributor-level role play and skill-building exercises to boost confidence and selling capabilities, with a focus on system-level understanding and technical solution selling
Conduct training seminars for local IDC sales representatives using standardized curriculum, including train-the-trainer support
Contribute to the Professional Development Seminar Series (PDSS) through content creation and delivery
Serve as the corporate liaison with certifying authorities for the PDSS program
Maintain and update technical onboarding materials for Generac Industrial sales personnel
Provide input into the development & refinement of sales tools & training curriculum to align with regional & strategic IDC goals
Offer real-time feedback from customers and IDC partners to inform management decisions and strategy
Author and support the creation of technical white papers and articles for marketing and thought leadership initiatives
Act as a technical resource to Marketing for content development across various platforms (e.g., web, presentations, webinars)
Own and continuously improve training materials for multiple technical sales and engineering programs
Manage & enhance product and market onboarding materials, collaborating with corporate teams to expand reach and impact
Support the creation and delivery of online training and marketing videos by contributing technical expertise
Partner with the Technical Training team to support aftermarket product developments and initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline, preferably Electrical Engineering
5 years of technical experience with power generation (controls, alternators, applications, codes) or equivalent experience
3 years of standby power generation industry commercial experience
3 years of training experience preferably with technical product or equivalent
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent presentation and training skills
Ability to engender trust and confidence of the distribution team
Ability to work collaboratively with the sales team
Ability to work independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
