Job Description:

Our client is a lean and growing renewable energy company headquartered in Southern Germany, specialising in the development and delivery of solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). With a strong EPC heritage and a sharpened focus on the German market, the business combines technical depth with agility and real decision-making speed. To support their continued growth and increasing BESS project pipeline, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager Renewable Energies to join their team. In this role, you will take overall technical responsibility for battery storage and PV/hybrid projects across the full lifecycle – from early-stage concept and system design through construction and commissioning. You will work closely with the Technical Director and collaborate across development, financing, and operations in a highly collaborative, 10-person team. Job Responsibility:

Technical lead for BESS and PV/hybrid projects
Management of projects from concept, engineering and permitting through to construction and commissioning
Development and optimisation of system designs (layout, sizing, system architecture, grid integration)
Technical evaluation of sites and feasibility assessments
Coordination of external planners, EPC partners, consultants and grid operators
Support in permitting procedures and grid connection processes
CAPEX/OPEX estimation and technical risk assessment
Technical input into tenders, supplier selection and contract negotiations
Construction oversight including quality control, timelines and performance testing
Contributing to the ongoing development of the company’s BESS strategy

Requirements:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar
3–5 years of professional experience in renewable energy project planning and implementation
Strong hands-on experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Ideally additional exposure to ground-mounted PV or hybrid systems
Good knowledge of German regulatory frameworks (e.g. grid connection guidelines, permitting procedures, EEG)
Experience working with grid operators, authorities and external technical stakeholders
Structured, self-driven and comfortable working in a lean, high-responsibility environment
German language skills at C1 level (essential)
