Job Description:

We are looking for a high-level Project Manager and Subject Matter Expert in E-Coating, Pre-treatment, and/or Powder Coating to join our global engineering and R&D team. This is a critical, permanent role based in Ontario, designed for a technical leader who is recognized as an industry expert. You will serve as the primary technical resource for automotive coating requirements, driving innovation and providing global troubleshooting support for our manufacturing divisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and consultation to global divisions to resolve complex technical issues and support new facility launches
  • Conceive novel approaches for products, fill the R&D pipeline to stay ahead of OEM requirements, and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) and pre-production trials
  • Act as the single point of contact for engineering representation with OEM customers, interpreting technical specifications and ensuring compliance
  • Coordinate global initiatives regarding equipment advances, best practices, and process enhancements to improve product quality
  • Create RFQs, prepare project progress reports, and develop business cases that outline costs and benefits for upcoming R&D projects
  • Perform periodic audits of divisions and suppliers to ensure adherence to engineering principles and company standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of related experience in e-coating, pre-treatment, or powder coating within the automotive industry
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring teams (1–3 years preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of automotive or aerospace requirements and the technical ability to control high-stakes industrial projects
  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical results to both internal stakeholders and external global resources
  • A proven track record of acting with honesty and integrity in accordance with corporate compliance policies
