Job Description:

You’ll be operating in an innovation lab or incubator context—not maintaining existing Google products, but building new prototypes, exploring emerging technologies, and pushing boundaries. Expect less structure, more ambiguity, with an emphasis on: Shaping emerging ideas into tangible prototypes; Quick experimentation and iteration; Collaborating with diverse stakeholders (Google teams, vendors); Executing rapidly under leadership focused on future growth

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead Data Center Construction & Technology Program Execution
  • Drive end-to-end program delivery for a new data center build, integrating construction, electrical, mechanical, networking, and emerging technologies
  • Serve as the on-the-ground TPM ensuring daily alignment between construction teams, vendors, infrastructure engineers, operations, and Horizon leadership
  • Translate high-level concepts and ambiguous directives into structured plans, actionable tasks, and real-world progress
  • 2. Operate in a Horizon 2/3 Innovation Environment
  • Support rapid experimentation, prototyping, and concept validation for new data center technologies and operational models
  • Guide early-stage ideas through narrative development, feasibility assessment, prototyping, and MVP execution
  • Manage program flow in a context with minimal structure—helping teams “figure it out,” clarify direction, and deliver forward momentum
  • 3. Tactical, Hands-On Program Leadership
  • Own day-to-day tactical execution: schedule coordination, onsite walkthroughs, issue triage, vendor guidance, and timeline tracking
  • Identify blockers early and drive resolution autonomously without waiting for direction
  • Act as the program’s “glue,” ensuring all moving parts stay in sync across construction, engineering, GSuite workstreams, and partner teams
  • 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Partner closely with the Horizon Leadership Team (LT), Google engineers, construction managers, and multiple vendor partners
  • Facilitate meetings, prepare program updates, and create clear narrative documentation in Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets)
  • Communicate proactively, consistently, and with polished executive presence—tailored for high-visibility innovation teams
  • 5. Drive Clarity in Ambiguous, Fast-Paced Environments
  • Break down vague, undefined, or rapidly evolving tasks into concrete next steps
  • Analyze complex technical and operational challenges
  • propose solutions and drive execution
  • Maintain progress across multiple parallel workstreams where priorities may shift frequently
  • 6. Program Reporting, Documentation & Governance
  • Build and maintain trackers, dashboards, schedules, RACI matrices, risk logs, and program narratives using Google Workspace
  • Provide weekly status updates to leadership with crisp summaries of issues, risks, decisions, and next steps
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, data center protocols, and safety requirements
  • 7. Culture & Personality Expectations
